NITIDUS - What do you think?

K 29 Jul 2005 14:28

I was at Jager Uprising last Thurs nite at the Evelyn and saw Nitidus play. After hearing Neil say he would be posting a review on their show, I was looking forward to reading it, as he is a well known and respected person in the Melbourne music scene. But, I was suprised when reading some of it. I agree, they definitely have the look, the voice and the guitars. But I felt the comment that they lacked a sense excitement, nah, that was DEFINITELY there. All four members were into it. They manage to create a real atmosphere and presence. With the vocalist and his wireless mic joining the crowd, the bass player jumping and moving, the guitarist rocking out the and drummer with his long hair flying and singing along...all loving what they are doing...

I have seen these guys play a number of times lately and have been very impressed every time. Their show is awesome! They totally rocked the stage on Thurs. And going by the vocal crowd, they loved it too .

Is there anyone else out there who think Nitidus totally rock??????!!!!!!!

Mate, thanks for your review, I don't know if you're in the band or not, but it's great to hear the perspective of someone who was at the gig. Reviews can be SO subjective; I've been to well over a dozen indie initiative/jager shows, and I religiously read the reviews every week, even for gigs I didn't attend.

Regarding the issue of `excitement' and `energy' and `vibe', I've seen many bands that I thought were REALLY ordinary and BORING, only to read a review that says the band `had the crowd in the palm of their hand' or `were electrifying' etc etc. And of course, as is perhaps the case with the Nitidus gig (although I wasn't there), the tangible energy exuded by the band was not noticed by whoever did the review.

I always enjoy comparing a review to what I personally experienced, I'd love to see more posts on here from people who agree/disagree with the weekly reviews. It's fascinating! </title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>
