Indie Initiative

Futana 7 Mar 2006 05:54

Has anyone else noticed that reviews and upcoming gigs are shown in the main page as "Indie Initiative @ The Greyhound". Have I missed something in the last couple of days of not checking this site? Has something happened with certain major sponsor or is this just a mistake by both Neil and Thomas Baker?</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

The Indie Initiative returns

Over the last year with the fantastic support of Jagermeister and Peer Group Media the Indie Initiative which has run for five years in Melbourne was able to expand to spread its wings to Sydney and Brisbane to become The Jager Uprising.
The Jager Uprising featured over 400 new local bands.
It has given exposure to bands that have gained recording deals.
It has given bands a chance to shine on great stages with proper sound.
The bands have gained valuable exposure from reviews in Inpress and The Brag and had songs played on FBi in Sydney.

Jagermeister is currently evaluating their music strategy. As such they have ceased investment in the Uprising program at this point in time and hope to continue at a later date with its ground breaking support and nurturing of 'emerging music' in Australia.

The Indie Initiative will now return in Melbourne. Shows will continue @ The Greyhound Hotel every Wednesday night with monthly “best of” shows.

Ciel Lindsay will continue with fortnightly shows in Brisbane @ The Troubador. Contact her at ciel@lindleystreet.com

The Annandale Hotel is keen to help new bands. Contact Meredith Webb merry@annandalehotle.com or http://annandalehotel.com for more info.

I would like to thank Dan Hennessy for his tireless work in taking the concept to a wider audience.
My thanks go out to all those who have helped. Inpress, the Brag, FBi radio, Angie Fraser-Parle and Ciel Lindsay in Brisbane, Jerry Soer for assisting Dan, Angie Vaughan and Tim Bull in Melbourne and John Rash, Adam Zammitt, Lisa Spunner and Felicity McDougall @ Peer Group Media and Suntory.
Thanks to The Greyhound, Evelyn Hotel, Spectrum, The Annandale @ The Troubador for the gigs. The mixers and staff all deserve our applause.
Thanks to all the bands. We hope that you gained something from the experience.

We have a final Hot Shots event @ The Greyhound on Friday night. Hope to see you there.

www.indieinitiative.com will be your contact point.
