FAST TRACK YOUR MUSIC CAREER

urchin 20 Jan 2009 14:15

Are you in a band, managing a band or interested in working in the music industry? You can fast track your way to a successful career by undertaking a course in music business.

Studying music business with Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE will teach you how to run your music related business by assisting with the administration of the class business Urchin Entertainment. You will gain hands on experience in the management of real music artists and assist with the supervision of the Urchin Entertainment annual compilation album including sourcing artists, choosing songs, liaising with graphic artists and photographers and online management and marketing of current and previous releases.
Students will also learn how to start and manage their own business, effectively market music using e-marketing and other tools, manage music events, benefit from important copyright and contract information and will have the chance to gain work experience and network with the QLD industry.

The music business course is taught by experienced industry practitioners including Andrea Smith. Andrea has had an extensive career in both venue and artist management and has guided many current industry professionals in their occupations including local managers, event managers and musicians, with QSongs award winner and local roots musician 8 Ball Aitken and Triple Zed manager Tracey Newman two of the most renowned.

"Studying Music Business with Andrea Smith has helped me turn my music into a fulltime profession. I used to be a banana picker, but using the skills that I learnt at TAFE I have now forged a career as an international recording and performing musician playing across Australia, Japan, USA and the Pacific. I really recommend young people to take their music to the next level through education" says 8 Ball.

Classes start in mid February with study three days per week to enable students plenty of time to practice the skills they have learnt. For more information or to secure a place in the course email Andrea on andrea.smith@deta.qld.gov.au or call 0411 197 014.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>
