Review - Girl Next Door - Thur Sept 11th - Pony Bar

ZeddES 15 Sep 2003 11:42

I arrived at a PACKED Pony Bar at about 10:45pm on Thurs night. When I say packed, it was almost impossible to squeeze thru to the bar, nearly a catastrophe!! GND had just begun their set, and I settled down to delightful tones of acoustic guitar and keyboard/piano mixed up with drum, bass, percussion and a CELLO! Debra on lead vocals has a lovely Sheryl Crowe-esque vocal. That's the best comparison I am able to find. It's a smooth soothing tone. The percussionist, Jon, broke out a flute in the second last song. Just beautiful!! This band has appearantly generated some interest at Triple M's launch pad with their Demo/EP titled 'Grounded' and will be playing at The Mercury Lounge in October. A good band to sit back and enjoy a red wine while listening to their sophisticated, moody, mellow tunes!!</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href= >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href= >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>
