Best Venues/Bands In Melbourne

Mitch04 20 Apr 2004 19:52

Ok, I know similar posts have been done before, and I'm new to this forum. Just wanted to see what peoples's fave venues and bands are at the moment. Are there any undiscovered gems people havent heard of and want to talk about? The most user-friendly venues (staff, booking, facilities) in town? Word me up.

Best band: Peeping Tom. Also Legends of Motorsport, Those bloody mckennas, Checkerboard, Pre_Shrunk.
Good Morning Captain, Pony and the Townie are the best venues and best bookers. Friendly bastards that give a band a home.

For the heavier bands: Amanda from the Armadale is very supportive of local bands. Chris the new Gershwin booker is great. As for bands, I don't think anyone surpasses Glenn Johnstone from .hinge - extremely talented and extremely nice.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

Cornish Arms has been taking live music really seriously lately - they run good shows.

The Greyhound also looks like it's in for the proverbial injection of novacaine, bringing it back from the far reaches of torpor (no thanks to Freddie Negro and his crap bands and Prictor's soporific residencies).

Rob Roy and POW probably have the sharpest PAs.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>
