The police have cracked down on all underage gigs after the Metro incident.

I have been reading a little about the recent imposed 'restriction of trade'
by the Liquor Licensing Commission on the conduct of underage gigs etc.

Managing youth activities has always been a concern for local government right through to Federal parliament. I am positive this issue would receive unadulterated support from social welfare groups, parent groups, local councils etc as reducing the impact for youth to attend music shows, basically means they are going to have to find something else to do and unfortunately it could mean they will most likely expell their activities not in a controlled environment like that in which an underage event provides, but rather release themselves on the local community whereby they can do harm to themselves and others.

If the Liquor Licensing Commission is so righteous to think that underage
events promote drinking, then they are far from removed in addressing the underage drinking problem.

State and Federal goverments have invested millions to raise the awareness of underage drinking and its affects on our youth. To think that by cancelling underage shows is going to help, purely based on one public incident is ludicrous. If anything it will make it worse.

Did the State Government and Legalised Gambling Council? put a ban on the casino when it proved that thousands of families were being driven to poverty, break-up and violence due to the 24x7 availability of gamblers to attend the casino? No, of course not - too many taxes for the State to play with.

Did the State Govt. and Anti-Drug Council put restrictive trade bans on all
nightclubs in Melbourne after the multiple deaths due to ilegal drugs in our
club scene? No of course not.

So why then should one publicised incident prevent an entire culture, not just one establishment, from being able to cater to an entire market?

Are they going to ban Kool Skoolz as well?

Yeah, thanks a lot Liquor lisencing Commission, let's get on the band wagon and give another blow to the live music scene in Melbourne. Keep handing out the licenses to the pokie venues, so all the kids will be stuck at home waiting for their parents to spend their school fees then be subject to drunken abuse whilst instead they could be out enjoying the splendour and experience of what a live gig has to offer.

Good work Brian Kearney Director of LLV, you're a progressive advocate for how to provide services in Victoria!

This is a very interesting situation that is being imposed on our community here. Has anyone got anything further they can add here, like timeframes and possible changes.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>
