I am not a huuuuge fan of the new breed like Jet, the datsuns etc....but music is music...i'm more into other oz bands along the genre of the butterfly effect. That said you just can't bag anyone.... beacuse it takes a shitload of talent to even write the simplist of songs...i hate to say it but there is to much jealousy out there..just cause one band makes it well the old saying it's good to knock a champion of there pedestal...applies here. Fuck good luck to them...hell i wish i could take over the world with music....To many musos myself prob included sit there and bag people when what we should be doing is getting of our arses and do something about it....We should use these local indy bands who are making it overseas as motivation to get of our backsides... hail to music foreva....!!!!</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

I agree... Yes it's cool live bands are going well blah blah blah. But come on brit pop hybrid pub rock... boring man, it's all been done before it was boring then and with all the clones with their brit pop haircuts and tight jeans make it even more boring now. But thats just my opinion. And I guess it's still good for the live scene.

But still it is better than the DJ thing.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

Each to their own in this business mate. I've seen Jet and the Datsun's live. OK, Jet might not light up the world or get some people excited but they are a band that are definately entertaining although a little overated due to a well orchestrated hype & public relations machine. BUT! The Datsun's on the other hand absolutely blew me away with their act and are a band well worth a viewing on stage. Constant high energy and a show that goes well past it's encore. Absolutely awesome. I'm still on a high and it's been many weeks since I saw them last.

Not your cup of tea? Well so be it! Move on and enjoy what you enjoy and let others do the same. It seems that ROCK is not your genre.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

Yeah i tend to agree. I cant really see this style of music going too far for too long. I mean whats the point in going out seeing a band that sounds like the rolling stones, when you could actually see the rolling stones instead. I mean is it really necasary it repeat musical history?</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

I know where you are coming from, DimSim. When one band receives praise for standing outside the circle, another band will think, "yeah, we've been doing that for ages", and before you know it, you've got yourself a small revolution ... Personally, I dig bands like The Datsuns, Warped, etc (not so much Jet). But I prefer that genre as a LIVE thing, rather than on CD. At the end of the day, if the music is GOOD music, then it really shouldn't matter what format / genre in which it is played. I think the point you are overlooking DimSim, is that these bands DO only what they KNOW... and that is to ROCK really hard... Doz.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

micktron 16 Jul 2003 14:40

yeah it is just simply rock music so thats cool to see people getting into that instead of bloody 50 cent or some shit. im not a fan personally of that type of rock but hey. its a lot better than most of the shit out there.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

hmm.. regardless of a specific individual's tastes... if producing electronic tunes was easy every man and his dog would be out their gaining electronc wealth and stardom. getting to the top eschelons in the electronic world is arguably no easier and requires no less talent than in the rock world - the pool of competition is enormous (as it is in rock music - every second person is at least doing something in their bedroom). as with most things, its pretty easy to simply become a dj; and djs can easily be (and often are) overrated, lacking particularly special talent; but to become a top international dj again requires very real ability... as far as the taste thing goes.. bad rock can often be worse than bad electronic music - its arguably easier to thoughtlessly hack at any acoustic than an electronic instrument (its usually too difficult to work machines while drunk); but either way, who cares - its the good stuff that counts. and will there ever be a synthesizer/guitar cultural reunification? it seems for now, the cold war continues.. (witness however, the faint et al, new order's ongoing popularity etc).</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

SERGEANT 22 Jul 2003 12:35

Must say...I've never been a big fan of the older era rock like Rolling Stones, Zeppelin. Their songwriting & musicianship was obviously extraordinary. However, the nowadays musicians are able to capture their sounds so brilliantly with more advanced production methods. This new breed of older sounding bands seem to me as if they are trying to revive this older style of music and it just doesn't work for me. They are even immitating the attitude and the look! Are these agents etc all loving them because they grew up in that era, think that;s where music is at and want to revive it?</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

Wow. And I thought the indie scene lacked a cohesive coherent voice of reason. Thank god those who hold sway in the local Melbourne scene hold an intelligent balanced musical view...</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

It's easy to become a new breed rock band. Just add an "S" to the end of your name and wait for the deal... The VineS, The White StripeS, The DatsunS, The HiveS, The CassanovaS, The StrokeS, The Yeah Yeah YeahS...</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>

The question should more be, have Jet or the Datsuns been Influenced by there musical style of choice or, have they IMITATED somthing that was new and interesting 30 years ago? At least when it was Grunge in 91 it was a bunch of Rock bands that were heavilly INFLUENCED by some old school legends like Black Sabbath, Led Zep and so on. Soundgarden didn't sound like and look like their Influences they were inspired by them hence the new movement at the time.</title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href=http://paydayloansforliveq.com >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>
