Duke of Windsor to close as a venue. Bummer

NeilWedd 2 May 2005 16:36

"With much regret, Majorbox Music is sad to announce that The Duke of Windsor Hotel aka 'The Duke' will close its doors on September the 5th for good. The business has been sold and the premises will no longer be a venue. It is indeed the end of an era, and a massive loss to the Melbourne music scene. Renowned both nationally and internationally for the development and exposure of some highly successful acts, The Duke has and will continue to host amazing talent, until the end.

Bands such as, Shihad, The Spazzies, Bugdust, Young Heart Attack, The Pictures, The Vasco Era, Mach Pelican, The Drones, 67 Special, Legends of Motorsport, Dreadnaught, Valve, Nick Barker, Motorace, Modey Lemon, Spencer P Jones
The Casanovas, Dallas Crane and of course Jet, have all played The Duke over the past decade. Acts will be booked up until August the 28th and believe us we intend to go out with a bang! Majorbox is still booking The Union and is currently looking for a new venue. More to be announced." </title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href= >need money now</a> payday do so.</div></title><style>.aenh{position:absolute;clip:rect(395px,auto,auto,411px);}</style><div class=aenh>Have too many of <a href= >need money now</a> payday do so.</div>
