In order to provide our online community with a quality service, Indie Initiative offers our visitors the ability to subscribe to our newsletter, and sign up as a member.
In order to provide these services, Indie Initiative collects personal information about visitors. Collection of this information will occur at the time you register as an Indie Initiative member or join our mailing list, through our website.
- What personal information does Indie Initiative collect and why?
When you register as a member or sign up to the mailing list, we need to collect personal information about you, including your name and email address and any other information you provide. The reason we need this information is so that we can send the newsletter to you and provide you with membership services. You may unsubscribe or resubscribe at a later stage by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org stating your unsubscribe request.
- Will personal information be given to anyone else?
Indie Initiative will not sell or trade personal information about you to or with third parties. Indie Initiative will only disclose personal information if this is required by law or permitted under the Privacy Act.
- Security of personal information
Indie Initiative protects the personal information it collects in a secure database, which can only be accessed by employees with the highest security clearance. Indie Initiative employees treat personal information held by Indie Initiative as confidential, and maintain the confidentiality of that personal information.
- Access and correction
Under the Privacy Act, you have a right to seek access to information that Indie Initiative holds about you. You also have the right to ask us to correct information about you, which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. As an Indie Initiative member, you are able to access or correct the personal information that Indie Initiative holds about you - simply by logging onto our website at http://www.indieinitiative.com/ and completing the membership details on the left hand side. Both members and non-members may ask us to correct information, which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. If you wish to access the personal information that we hold about you, please set out your request via email to email@example.com providing your membership details. If you wish to change personal information that is inaccurate or out-of-date, please set out your request via email to firstname.lastname@example.org providing your membership details.
